Mennonite Mutual Fire Insurance Company has been in existence for over 100 years. Back in 1894, when Mennonite settled in the Saskatchewan River Valley, they established fire protection services to assist with the identified need to support and assist those in their community facing property losses.
In 1918, a fire insurance undertaking was incorporated under the Saskatchewan laws and began to provide insurance to the larger community under the name “Mennonite Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Saskatchewan”. Throughout the 1900’s growth continued and in the 1970’s the company amalgamated with Prairie Mennonite Fire Insurance, located in Swift Current. For the first time, independent brokers were given contracts and insurance was offered to the general public.
After a century of serving Saskatchewan as the Mennonite Mutual Fire Insurance Company MMFI will now be known as “My Mutual Insurance”. As is the nature of a “mutual” company, MMFI is owned by it’s policyholders. This mutual insurance model, and the company focus on stellar customer service has created a culture where policyholders truly feel this is their company. This feeling has led us to re-brand MMFI to reflect our biggest asset, our customers.
This new identity moves us forward in so many ways:
