You Should Talk To Your Lawn

Have you ever been out for a walk and passed by a house with a fantastic lawn and wondered how they do it? Well, friends, we are here to help you get the lawn you have always dreamed of, and all it is going to take is switching up how you mow!

How you mow your lawn can promote growth and keep your lawn looking terrific all summer long. So let's step up your mower game and have the neighbours drooling over your yard.

Mow Your Lawn When It Is Dry

Not only can it be hard on your mower to cut your lawn when it's wet, but it's not great for your lawn either. Wet grass can clump up and, if left on your lawn, can create brown spots. Try to mow your yard in the early evening as grass can still have dew on it in the morning, and this also allows your grass to recover before the heat the following afternoon.

Leave That Grass Tall

When setting up your mower, move the cutting height to the highest setting as we only want to cut the top 1/3 of the grass blade at a time. Longer grass develops more roots and deeper root systems. Another critical piece here is that short grass tends to allow more weeds to grow, and no one likes weeds!

Leave Those Clippings On The Lawn

When mowing, it can be beneficial to leave your grass clippings on the lawn. Grass clippings break down and provide nutrients to the soil.

Mow Patterns Into Your Lawn

Ever see someone's lawn that has impressive patterns. These patterns look fantastic and help not develop ruts in the lawn and help your grass stand up nice and tall.

Put Away That Schedule

Grass grows at different speeds depending on the weather and time of year. Mow your grass as often as needed, when it needs it. Don't forget that you only want to cut the top 1/3 of the grass blade.

Don't Touch That New Lawn

When you have planted some baby grass seeds(aww that is cute), don't mow them right away. Grass needs time to develop and shouldn't be cut until it has reached a height of 2-3 inches.

Talk To Your Lawn

The grass is like a plant, and the more you talk to it, the more it will grow! Ok, maybe this last one isn't a proven fact and may make you look silly in front of the neighbours, but if it gets you a better lawn, we say go for it.

We hope these simple tips can help you get that a healthier/happier lawn.
